Christopher G. Powell, MAI, AI-GRS graduated The University of Missouri with the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration emphasizing in Operations Management. 

  

As Managing Partner with Powell & Associates Valuation Services, I bring 18-plus years professional experience in the realm of CRE valuation, appraisal, appraisal review and collateral risk management. My experience includes achieving the highest technical designations for the profession, MAI, AI-GRS and covers a broad range of income producing and special purpose properties, with perspective from inside and external to lending institutions. Additional expertise includes USPAP and FIRREA, appraisal requirements for lending institutions (12 CFR part 323) with a focus on determining necessary appraisal requirements for current “As-Is” and prospective market value, “As-Complete and As-Stabilized”, appraisal assignments. With my commitment to advanced education and higher ethical requirements associated with the MAI, AI-GRS designations, I have a strong work ethic, and am detail oriented, in providing compliant and reasonable CRE appraisal products.


My experience includes daily opportunity to provide customer service from several perspectives; small independent appraisal firms, valuation departments within large corporate real-estate-services companies, appraisal departments within federally regulated financial institutions and as a small business owner. The technical aspects of my experience include: problem solving, market research, market analysis, financial analysis, appraisal preparation, compliance and quality control through appraisal review. In addition to general real estate consultation and management, I have had responsibilities for creating federally compliant policy and procedures within a large, growing community bank’s appraisal department.
